I was just about to write a post about centering prayer and the importance of resting in God. I appreciate you sharing your experience and hope with us. I’m finding I love my times of stillness with God so much! It’s wonderful to just be together in Love. ♥️♥️

Mahalo KJ for this timely encouragement! I struggle with lingering in His presence but centering prayer reminds me of the simplicity of just "being" and not "doing." The word the Lord gave me for 2021 and now my sacred word is SEE. See Him and know He sees me. Thank you for sharing your heart! PS ...When's your next embodied writing mentorship?

Thank you for the clarity your words bring to me. They are a gift. The first time I saw the Lord in my safe place in my trauma informed therapy session I found myself drawn to the calm and warmth I experience there and realized I go there often. Since then I spend time daily resting there and finding calm and peace as I process the years of “harm that I never consented to receive.” I have never known how to explain this practice outside of therapy. :)

Is there a centering prayer app you'd recommend for Android?

I don't know of one, mostly since I just have apple products. But I bet a good app exists! Surprised this one isn't on both app stores.

Thank you for this. It is a beautiful reminder and encouragement to practice centering prayer. I want to make it a habit, and will ask Him for a sacred word. What is giving me hope today is the realization that we belong to His Kingdom. We are in the hard world, but belong to a different Kingdom.

Thank you. I can’t manage much more than that, as we have just had more restrictions announced here in Scotland. But this was exactly what I needed to read tonight. Thank you.x

Thank you for this, K.J. I can really relate to “We replaced rhythms of relationship with striving and self-evaluation”. The more I try to be good, the farther away I feel from God’s love. Only when I stop focusing on myself, can I begin to believe in a God who loves me as His creation, his daughter, who doesn’t judge me the way I judge myself. Also, that being kind to my body is not selfish, nor is mistreating my body holy. I need to listen to my body’s needs instead of using it as a scapegoat for pent up anger and frustration. Thank you again for reaching out with compassion to those who feel unacceptable.
